In Ottawa, Mike Fisher scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Ottawa Senators defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-3.
The victory was the Senators fourth consecutive win overall and their eighth straight at home to set a new team record.
Ottawa is second overall in points in the Eastern Conference and is 11-3-0-0 at home.
In Detroit, Sergei Fedorov scored a pair of goals and added an assist as the Red Wings overcame a battling Columbus Blue Jackets before grabbing a 6-4 victory.
