Taiwan's national team, of seven professionals and 17 amateurs, defeated the President Lions 7-1 in Tainan last night in a practice game.
The national team will be heading to Cuba to participate in the Intercontinental Cup tournament, which begins Nov. 8.

However Taiwan scored one run each in the sixth, seventh and the eighth innings, to force the Lions to replace Shen with Tsao Choon-yang (
It was Tsao's first appearance in Taiwan after being released by the Chunichi Dragons (from Japan) earlier in the season.
Taiwan scored another two runs and held the advantage to defeat the Lions 7-1.
The two teams will play again 6pm tonight in Tainan Stadium and fans can attend, free.
