Taiwan comes second in rowing

Taiwan grabbed a total of three gold, four silver and three bronze medals to finish second overall at the eighth Asian Youth Rowing Championship which ended yesterday in Ilan.
Taiwan won the gold in the men's two-oar four-member competition and the two-oar singles competition, as well as in the women's two-oar doubles competition.
South Korea finished first in the overall medal standings by grabbing a total of four golds, including one each in the men's one-oar doubles and one-oar four-member competitions, and the women's one-oar doubles and one-oar four-member competitions. The Korean squad also won a pair of bronze medals.
Meanwhile, Japan finished third in the competition with two gold medals and two bronzes.
A total of 92 athletes from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, India, Japan and South Korea competed in the three-day event, which started Friday.
