Brother Elephants starter Nakagomi Shin pitched nine innings last night and not only captured his twelfth win [fourth consecutive] of the season but performed his first shutout game since joining the Elephants this season.

The Elephants' offense backed Nakagomi up three-hit gem as they crossed the plate six times last night in Hsinchuang to win the game with the score of 6-0.

Chinatrust Whales starter Sung Chao-chee (宋肇基) gave up four hits and two walks, allowing four runs.

Sung was replaced in the fifth inning by reliever Liu Yu-jan (柳裕展), who pitched one inning and gave up another run.

The Elephants scored two runs on Peng Cheng-min's (彭政閔) double right in the first inning.

In the third inning Chen Chih-yuen (陳致遠) stole bases twice to remain on top of the standings with 25 stolen bases.

The Taichung Agan came out on top in a one-run game as it beat the visiting Kaohsiung Fala 10-9.

The Agan overcame a three-run deficit going into the bottom of the eighth and won it on game MVP first baseman Hsieh Chia-chien's 15th long ball of the season.

Hsieh's two homers marked his 14th and 15th long balls of the season and gave him the league's lead over teammate Mejia. The series-deciding game will be played tonight in Taichung.
