Osvaldo Martinez pitched the Sinon Bulls to a 9-2 victory against the Chinatrust Whales last night in Taichung.
Martinez went to the mound in search of his seventh win as the Whales opposed him with their newly acquired foreign pitcher Rafael Medina.
The Bulls took early advantage of Medina, who walked three and gave up two hits, resulting in a three-run advantage for the Bulls.
One more run was added in the fourth as Medina walked another batter and gave up another hit.
Although Martinez was not on the top of his game last night he was well supported by his teammates. He pitched six-and-a-third innings to record his seventh win of the season, as Medina took his first loss on his first outing in Taiwan.
The Bulls later scored another three runs on Whales reliever Hsieh Cheng-shoon (Á©Ӿ±) and two runs on the Whale's third pitcher of the night Liu Yu-jan (¬h¸Î®i) to romp home 9-2.
Chueh Shoo-moo (Âö¾ð¤ì) had three hits with three RBIs and was voted the HiNet MVP of the game as the teams concluded their three-game weekend series.
The Bulls will be heading south to Tainan this weekend to play with the Lions, as the Whales will go north to play against the first-placed Elephants.
