The jackpot in the national lottery remained up for grabs yesterday with no one winning the grand prize. Fifteen people won second prize, however, and will take home NT$3.75 million each, according to TaipeiBank (台北銀行).
Total sales on the fifth issue of the computerized lottery set another record at NT$1.04 billion, or NT$20 million more than the previous issue of NT$1.02 billion. This is the second time that lottery sales topped NT$1 billion.
Sales in the first three issues were NT$954 million, NT$962 million and NT$776 million respectively.
The total jackpot in yesterday's draw was about NT$180 million, with another NT$403 million expected to be given out in lesser prizes.
Without a first place winner, the $180 million will be carried over to the sixth issue, where it will set another record.
