Human rights separated from aid

But the apparent lack of collective power among attending law-makers -- three in total during yesterday's bill review -- led to a final version that went along the line favored by the foreign ministry.

That is, countries or organizations that support terrorism should be excluded from becoming partners in Taiwanese foreign-aid projects.

The final version only inserts the phrase, "to enhance international human rights and democratic development based on Taiwan's development experience" as an objective of Taiwanese foreign aid.
