More than 50 percent of respondents in a recent poll voiced their dissatisfaction with the performance of the mass media's coverage of this year's legislative and mayoral elections.
The survey also showed that nearly 90 percent of the interviewees felt that the media had given too much coverage to the "bickering among political parties' leading campaigners."
According to the survey resul-ts, insufficient coverage of the candidates' campaign issues was also one of the main reasons why the public were discontented by the performance of the media this year.
Of the respondents, 78.8 percent said that TV served as their main source of election news, while 9 percent said that they got their election information from the newspapers.
Only 8 percent said they got their information from the candidates' campaign brochures.
The survey polled 1,071 randomly chosen interviewees.
