"It's actually a better deal to have your entire house demolished because the compensation is substantial," Lin An said.
Lin explained that the compensation for having a whole house torn down was reportedly NT$6 million while the kickbacks were believed to be around NT$250,000.
Lo said that the bureau of public works will conduct an investigation into the allegation.
