Wong's lawyer said yesterday that his client plans to sue Chang for sexual assault, public insult and malicious accusations.
"We also suspect Chang -- who abused his power to seduce Wong for sex -- of drugging her," said Lin, adding that this was a violation of Article 228 of the Criminal Code.
If convicted, Chang would face a prison term of a minimum of six months and a maximum of five years.
"Wong will detail every episode in court to convince the judge, who has every reason to take her testimony seriously," the lawyer said, adding that he was sure Wong would win the case.
But Lin denied that Wong would present the judge with an audio tape of her having sex with Chang. He said that the first hearing would be held in August, and that the case should wrap up before the year-end elections.
"What we're saying here is that Chang, a sex offender, is not qualified to be a legislator. He has disgraced the legislature," Lin said. "As long as the DPP withdraws Chang's candidacy for the legislature, Wong is willing to drop all charges."
In early June, Chang publicly called Wong "a paranoid woman" and filed a libel suit against her and Linda Arrigo, ex-wife of former DPP chairman Shih Ming-teh (
Wong has decided to sue Chang for public insult and malicious accusations in order to undermine his own case against her.
In addition, Wong's husband, Lin Ching-shun, plans to file a lawsuit for adultery against Chang today.
Wong's lawyer said Chang would "definitely lose" the adultery case and should receive a prison sentence of up to one year under the charge.
DPP spokesman Phoenix Cheng (鄭運鵬) said yesterday said the party would wait for the court's final verdict in any case brought against Chang before deciding whether to take action against the lawmaker.
Earlier, the DPP said the accusations surrounding Chang were a matter for the courts to decide.
