Seeking justice in the Chung Hsing case

By presenting `new' facts and evidence concerning the Chung Hsing Bills Finance case involving PFP Chairman James Soong, lawyer Chuang Po-lin has caused the controversial case to be reopened. Surprisingly, during an interview with `Taipei Times' staff reporter Jou Ying-cheng yesterday, Chuang suggested a way for Soong to disentangle himself from the situation

TT: Did you have any contact with Lee or KMT Chairman Lien Chan (連戰) after the prosecutors made the decision not to indict?

Chuang: No.

TT: The PFP questioned the relaunch of the investigation, saying it was political persecution. What do you think?

Chuang: I don't think it's political persecution. It's a purely legal issue and I hope it won't be politicized.
