More than 120 anti-nuclear groups, along with officials from the ruling DPP, staged a protest march in Taipei yesterday afternoon calling for the government to allow a referendum to decide the fate of the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant. The march started at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and took the protesters through the streets of Taipei to the headquarters of the opposition KMT and the People First Party. Hours later, protesters gathered at the square outside the Presidential Office and projected a laser display of the Chinese characters for "referendum" on the building. They then staged a sit-in and listened to speeches by environmentalists as well as folk songs. Police estimated a turn-out of more than 10,000 protesters for the march
