Robbers stabbed to death two Taiwanese businessmen early yesterday at a factory dormitory in southern China, Taiwanese officials and the victims' relatives said.
The victims were Lin Tai-chou (ªL®õ¬w), a furniture factory owner in Shenzhen, and his manager, Huang Ching-chih (¶À¼y´¼), according to Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation, the semi-official organization that deals with China.
Lin's sister-in-law, Lin Huan-chen, told the CTN cable TV news channel that the killers were suspected to be factory workers seeking cash the factory was going to use to pay its 200 employees' salaries.
Lin said her sister departed for Shenzhen yesterday after being informed about the deaths.
A Shenzhen police official, who would not give his name, said he had no information about the deaths.
In recent years many Taiwanese have set up factories in Shenzhen, a booming town bordering Hong Kong.
