Premier Tang Fei (
Tang graduated from the Chinese Air Force Academy in 1952. Tang also completed two other courses at the Armed Forces University in 1971 and 1979 respectively.
Rising gradually from pilot, Tang became chief of staff for planning at the Air Force General Headquarters in 1984. Tang's later positions include superintendent of the ROC Air Force Academy, director of political warfare at the Air Force General Headquarters, and commanding general of the Combat Air Command. Tang became commander-in-chief of the air force in 1992, vice chief of the general staff in 1998, and minister of national defense in the following year.
Tang took office as premier on May 20, 2000. Tang's term as premier goes down as a record for the shortest ever in that position.
