DPP ventures to China

STAFF WRITER

Despite allegations the Chinese government has banned all elected DPP officials from entering China before May 20, DPP Legislator Hsu Jung-shu (許榮淑) yesterday arrived in Guangzhou to attend a semi-official e-commerce forum.

Hsu, convener of the Legislative Yuan's Technology Committee, is the first elected DPP official to enter China since Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) was elected as Taiwan's next president.

Traveling with Hsu are her DPP assistants, KMT Legislator Chu Feng-chih (朱鳳芝), Shenkung Foundation (深耕文教基金會) vice chairman Hsu Chung-yi (許忠義) and the Beijing Arbitration Committee's Taiwanese member, Chang Keng-ming (張耿銘).

The forum starts today.
