The families of patients at Lungfatang (龍發堂) yesterday demanded that three legislators who had previously accused the Buddhist-run facility in Kaohsiung County of abuse offer an apology.
More than 100 family members of patients resident at Lungfatang organized a meeting yesterday to express their support to the facility.
The families said they appreciate Lungfatang's efforts in offering the charity service and demanded that lawmakers Yu Jan-daw (余政道), Wang Hsueh-feng (王雪峰) and Chiang Chi-wen (江綺雯) apologize for their accusations.
During the meeting, Master Hsinhsien (心賢法師), Lungfatang's spokeswoman claimed the lawmakers' accusations have damaged the reputation of the home which holds over 600 patients.
Hsinhsien added that Lungfatang regrets the biased reporting presented by the local electronic media.
