For those of you who haven't yet visited our Web site, which until yesterday was still in beta testing mode, please take a look today -- www.taipeitimes.com
We hope the cyberspace version suits your needs as well as the printed version which you are now holding. Although we have finished the beta testing of the Web site, its development is still in an early stage and glitches are bound to occur. Please bear with us.
We also welcome feedback on how we can improve the Web site.

You will notice that the site does not carry the international wire agency news stories that appear in print on our Asia, World, Business, Features and Sports pages. There are two reasons for this. One, there are copyright restrictions on wire service stories, and two, we have designed our Web site for a special purpose.
Basically, the Taipei Times aims to become the most authoritative source on the Internet for news relating to Taiwan. Our daily coverage includes general news, business, features, editorials, opinion pieces and commentary on a wide range of topics.
As a rule, the Web site will be updated before noon (Taiwan time) every day. But please be patient in the early stages, because it may not always be ready at the stroke of twelve.
You may use the online edition to send us letters-to-the-editor, view archived material from previous editions and contact the editors and publisher about issues that are of concern to you.
