I found Crocket one Thursday morning in early April, 2011. Totally emaciated, his muscles seriously deteriorated, he was almost entirely bald save for his head and the ruff of his neck. His exposed skin was covered in mange and open sores, his eyes sunken from dehydration, his hind legs bowing from malnutrition. He was standing motionless in the fierce sun, no longer even having the strength to move out of the sun and into the shade.
The vet said he was mostly fine, but riddled with worm. He reckoned it would take six weeks to a year to be clear. He was declared worm-free in five. He had been owned, and abandoned, as he did not need to be house trained.
Tubs, a Shiba Inu, was taken to a pet shelter in Wugu, north New Taipei City, in January last year. We found out about her on social media, and went up to the shelter the next day to bring her home.

The vet gave her a clean bill of health. She was a little underweight. She had a lovely personality, but was curious about everything, insistent, tenacious. Crocket wasn’t too happy about the introduction of another dog into the house.
Over the 18 months since Tubs joined us, they have become much closer. Now, they get on very well with each other.(Paul Cooper, Taipei Times)

獸醫說克羅奇的健康大致上是沒問題的,只是有相當嚴重的寄生蟲病,需要六個禮拜至一年的時間才能痊癒。但才五個禮拜,他就已經免於蟲害之苦了。克羅奇並不需要居家生活訓練,可見他原本應該是別人家的寵物,只是後來被拋棄了。
塔布絲是一隻柴犬,去年一月的時候,她被送到新北市五股的一間動物收容所。我們在社群網站上發現她,隔天便去收容所把她帶回家。
獸醫說她的健康狀況良好,只是有點體重過輕。她的性格開朗,對每件事都感到好奇,然後很固執,喜歡堅持己見。克羅奇一開始對她加入家族成員這件事不是很高興。
