The 2016 Ho-Hai-Yan Gongliao Rock Festival started yesterday and will end tomorrow. Apart from Taiwanese band Sodagreen performing at the festival again, singer Crowd Lu, Matzka and several other bands are attending this year’s festival.

According to New Taipei City Government’s Tourism and Travel Department, the Taiwan Rock Band Contest, held yesterday, featured a number of local rock bands. For the Ho-Hai-Yan Indie Music Awards scheduled for today, 10 of Taiwan’s top new bands will compete for the championship.

For the World Rock Performance on the last day of the event, several international rock bands will gather together tomorrow, including AKi from Japanese rock band SID, Irish rock band Hogan, South Korean heavy metal band Victim Mentality, Mehdi Nassouli from Morocco, An Honest Mistake from Malaysia, and folk metal band Song of Chu from China.

Sodagreen will perform the grand finale at the concert tomorrow; a perfect ending for the annual festival. Meanwhile, New Taipei City has launched a safety program, reminding people to protect themselves from the dangers of sunburn, drowning or drugs.
