The Sankeng Cycle Route, which links the Sankeng Old Street in Taoyuan’s Longtan District and Dasi Bridge in Dasi District, is 7 km in length, has gentle slopes and is filled with rural landscapes, making it a favorite of cyclists.
Visitors can begin the journey from the Sankeng Old Street, ride along the Shihmen Canal and Dahan River, and reach the Dasi Bridge and Heping Old Street. Then, in about half a day, they can bite their way through the traditional cuisine and the famous Dasi dried bean curd on the two old streets. At a leisurely pace of 8 km per hour on a bike, a visitor can make a round trip between Sankeng Old Street and Heping Old Street within approximately two hours.
A major feature of the Sankeng Cycle Route is its multi-optional paths. If visitors only want an easy biking trip filled with rural landscapes, they can begin the journey from the Sankeng Old Street, ride along the channel and reach Erkan, then circle back to Sankeng Ecology Park. If they intend to ride for a longer distance, they can travel past Erkan to Dasi, then after reaching the Fanzailiao Resting Point, circle back to Sankeng Ecology Park. Both options are very suitable for family cycling trips.

The Bank of Japan (BoJ) announced a seismic change in direction on March 19, hiking interest rates for the first time in 17 years. The move represents an unwinding of an ultra-loose — and maverick -- policy aimed at putting Japan’s “lost decades” of stagnation and deflation behind it. The last time the BoJ raised interest rates was in 2007, but its war against deflation began in earnest in 2013 under then-prime minister Shinzo Abe. “Abenomics” combined generous government spending and central bank monetary easing. The BoJ spent vast amounts on bonds and other assets to pump liquidity into the
Have you ever wished for an extra hour to prepare for exams or finish homework? In some countries, people actually adjust their clocks to gain or lose an hour, all for the sake of Daylight Saving Time (DST). Specifically, clocks are set forward by an hour in March and then set back in November. One of the primary reasons for implementing DST is to make better use of natural daylight so that people can reduce energy consumption. The concept originated with Benjamin Franklin in 1784 and became widely adopted during World War I. Today, this system is in place
