Min-Ho Junior High School in Chiayi County’s Fanlu Township has linked up with Chiayi County Jhuci Senior High School to promote taekwondo. On Jan. 9 in the taekwondo competition of the county high and elementary schools games, they scored the proud achievement of taking seven golds, two silvers and a bronze. Jhuci principal Kuo Chun-sung says that last year some members of the taekwondo team of Min-Ho’s physical education class moved up to Jhuci’s physical education class. Representing the school in a competition for the first time, they won two gold medals, while Min-Ho took five golds in the junior high boys’ division and were also the team champions for the sixth year in a row.
Min-Ho school recruited taekwondo coach Chou Hao-wei from outside the county in 2009, and from 2011 onward it has been the champion team in the county high and elementary school games six years in a row. Last year the school represented Chiayi County in the national high school games, winning two golds and taking third place in the nation in the high school boys’ division.
Team members who graduated from Min-Ho last year went on to join Jhuci’s physical education class. The school provides transport to carry them to Min-Ho school and back every afternoon to receive continued training from Chou. This year is the first time they have represented Jhuci. Team members Liu Po-cheng and Chang Ni-chueh took home two golds between them, while the school team won second place in the senior high school boys’ division.

The BoJ spent vast amounts on bonds and other assets to pump liquidity into the

Have you ever wished for an extra hour to prepare for exams or finish homework? In some countries, people actually adjust their clocks to gain or lose an hour, all for the sake of Daylight Saving Time (DST). Specifically, clocks are set forward by an hour in March and then set back in November. One of the primary reasons for implementing DST is to make better use of natural daylight so that people can reduce energy consumption. The concept originated with Benjamin Franklin in 1784 and became widely adopted during World War I. Today, this system is in place
