To mark World Rabies Day, Sept. 18, on the next day the Taichung Agriculture Bureau and Animal Protection and Health Inspection Office held a rabies prevention activity on Calligraphy Greenway, with 65 veterinarians forming a bicycle team to ride from Taichung to Changhua, promoting rabies prevention and reminding animal owners to take their family dogs and cats once a year to be vaccinated against rabies, because vaccination ensures safety.
The bicycle ridden by Agriculture Bureau Deputy Director Tsai Yung-sheng towed a pet trailer that carried a little dog around Calligraphy Greenway. The cycle team then formally set out on its journey, bedecked with slogans reminding pet owners to take their dogs and cats for their shots once a year.
Taichung has achieved a 60 percent rabies vaccination rate. Fifteen of its districts have either seen cases of rabies in ferret-badgers or are listed as high-risk areas. Thanks to a roving vaccination program, the vaccination rate for these districts has reached 70 percent, while it is about 50 percent in the other districts. The Animal Protection and Health Inspection Office says that the vaccination rate has to reach 70 percent to achieve the overall rabies protection rate, so it calls on owners to get their pets vaccinated regularly. By doing so, they can protect their pets and safeguard themselves as well.

One of us is a murderer. The terrifying thought fills your head. There’s a corpse in the next room, and one of your fellow diners put it there. The concept likely originated with “wink murder,” an amusing pastime that became popular in the early 1900s. In this game, a “murderer” kills

Mullet roe is a highly-priced delicacy typically served during special occasions like wedding banquets or Chinese New Year’s dinners, where families come together in celebration. The mullet roe can be prepared in various ways. It is usually pan-fried but can also be roasted or torched. To cook a pan-fried mullet roe, soak it in liquor or wine and peel off its membrane. Then, it is browned over a low fire and turned several times. Finally, the fried mullet roe is cut diagonally and is ready to be served. This dish is usually served with garlic scapes and daikon slices, but
