In order to effectively resolve the schooling problem for rapidly growing numbers of high-school students, Hsinchu County Government has been actively promoting the establishment of Singdong High School. A groundbreaking ceremony for the school was held on Monday last week. The cost of construction will about NT$520 million. The authorities plan to build 20 classrooms for each grade, making 60 classrooms altogether. Construction is expected to take 17 months, with the project set to be completed in August next year.
The Hsinchu County Government Public Works Department says that the land allocated for Singdong High School is on plot no. 613 of the Yongsing section in Jhubei City, which covers an area of 26,224 square meters and is part of the Jhubei High Speed Rail station special planning zone. It faces onto roads on three sides, namely Jiafeng Sixth Road, Fusing Third Road and Jiafeng Seventh Street. The building project includes teaching and administration buildings, a kitchen, a sports ground, an outdoor activity and scenic area and a general activity center.
