    Into the lion¡¦s mouth °e¤J·à¤f

Mark and Kathleen were in Las Vegas one day walking around. They had spent all day going to concerts, magic performances and plays. Now they were looking for a place to spend the night.

¡§Let¡¦s stay at one of the cheap motels on the edge of town,¡¨ Kathleen suggested.

¡§No, we¡¦re only going to be in Vegas for a few days. Let¡¦s go to a really nice place on the Strip,¡¨ Mark said.

Kathleen agreed. They walked to the Strip. It wasn¡¦t quite dark yet, and the temperature was still very hot.

¡§Look!¡¨ Kathleen shouted. ¡§Waffles with vanilla ice cream. Let¡¦s get some to cool off.¡¨

Kathleen got one waffle and Mark got two. They started walking again.

Soon they came to a big hotel that looked very strange.

    ¡§Look at the entranceway!¡¨ Kathleen said. ¡§It looks like a huge lion¡¦s head.¡¨

¡§I think we should get out of here,¡¨ Mark said.

But Kathleen insisted on going inside. She said they could spend the night there and get some great photos.

The pair began to walk inside. To get in, they had to walk through the lion¡¦s mouth.

¡§The teeth look very sharp,¡¨ Mark said. His hands were trembling.

They looked around. Both of them were left speechless. Suddenly the mouth began to close¡K(MICHAEL KEARNEY, STAFF WRITER)
