The mysterious hunk of metal ¯«¯µªºª÷ÄÝ
Mark and Kathleen were walking through a cornfield one day when they came upon a strange hunk of burnt metal.
¡§What do you think it is?¡¨ Mark asked.
¡§I don¡¦t know; I¡¦ve never seen anything like this before,¡¨ Kathleen replied.
Mark poked the metal with a stick, but nothing happened. Kathleen touched it with her finger, but still no response.
¡§Let¡¦s take it home. If we can¡¦t think of anything to do with it, we can sell it as scrap metal,¡¨ Kathleen said.
Mark put the piece of metal on his back and the two left the field. When they got home, Mark put the hunk of metal in the living room.
¡§If we put a tablecloth on it, it¡¦ll make a great coffee table. Let¡¦s leave it here,¡¨ Kathleen said.
For the next few weeks, Mark and Kathleen went about their business. But things weren¡¦t quite right. Mark was sick all the time, and Kathleen began to lose her fur. Finally Kathleen had had enough.
¡§Something strange is going on,¡¨ she told Mark. ¡§And I think it¡¦s because of that hunk of metal. Let¡¦s take the tablecloth off.¡¨
Mark lifted the tablecloth off with his trunk. The hunk of metal had turned bright green¡K
