A football league for the blind and the partially sighted has started up in Germany. The Blindfootball-Bundesliga opened two days ago, less than two years after the sport was first introduced in Germany.
Blind football started during the 1960s in Brazil, where there are now 80 teams. The sport is played in many European countries such as England, France, Greece, Spain and Russia.
Each team has five players, including a partially sighted goalkeeper.
The game is divided into 25-minute halves, and the pitch is 20 meters by 40 meters.
Helpers are positioned behind the goals to guide the players. The ball has a bell inside it to help players locate it.
The pace is quick. It's surprising to see how well the players handle the ball without being able to see it.
Blind football was introduced to Germany in May 2006, just before Germany hosted the last World Cup.
The German league has eight teams from all over Germany.
