A car that can be driven underwater will be unveiled next month at the International Geneva Motor Show.
The "sQuba" is like something out of a James Bond film. The Swiss manufacturer, Rinspeed, says it is the world's first real underwater car.
Rinspeed's head, Frank Rinderknecht, loves James Bond movies. He has dreamed of making the amphibious vehicle come true.
"For three decades I have tried to imagine how it might be possible to build a car that can fly underwater," said Rinderknecht in a statement. "Now we have made this dream come true."
The convertible sports car transforms into an underwater vehicle in which passengers breathe with the help of compressed air masks.
"The real challenge ... was to create a submersible car that moves like a fish in water," said Rinderknecht.
The car can descend up to 10m underwater. The open-top design of the car means passengers can get out quickly during an emergency.(STAFF WRITER WITH AFP)

Rinspeed公司總裁法蘭克．林德奈奇是ＯＯ七的影迷，他一直夢想能製造出水陸兩用車。
「我花了三十年絞盡腦汁地想，要怎麼做出一輛能潛水的汽車，」他在一份聲明中提到：「現在我們讓這個夢想成真了。」
這輛敞篷跑車潛入水中後，乘客能透過氧氣罩呼吸。
林德奈奇說：「最大的挑戰是…讓潛水車能像魚一樣悠遊水中。」
