Knut celebrates his first birthday 小北極熊努特歡度一歲生日

Berlin's famous polar bear Knut celebrated his first birthday last Wednesday.

To celebrate Knut's birthday, the Berlin Zoo gave free entry to kids. They also baked a giant birthday cake using 300 eggs. Pieces of the cake were sold to raise money for the zoo.

Knut became famous when he was rejected by his mother and raised by humans. His story was heard all over the world.

Now he's no longer a cute little white bear cub - he's a full-grown polar bear who likes to roll around in dirt.

At birth he weighed just 810g, but now he weighs more than 110kg. He's a bit fat, so the zoo wouldn't let him eat any of his birthday cake.

The Berlin Zoo says they don't have room to keep Knut. They're looking for a new home for him where he will be paired with a female polar bear.

柏林動物園的小北極熊努特上週三歡慶一歲生日。

為了慶祝努特的生日，動物園讓小孩子免費入園參觀。他們用了三百顆蛋烤了一個巨大的蛋糕，每塊蛋糕所賣得的收入將捐給動物園。

現在牠已經不再是以前的白色小北極熊了－而是發育完全的北極熊，還喜歡在泥土裡面翻滾。

努特剛出生的時候，體重只有八百一十克，但現在已經重逾一百一十公斤。由於牠有點過胖，所以動物園沒讓牠吃自己的生日蛋糕。
