Meet Kathleen the mouse and Mark the elephant. Kathleen is very brave and likes adventure, but Mark is very shy and scared of many things. But friends stay together, so Mark follows Kathleen wherever she goes. Sometimes they get into some very sticky situations.
見見老鼠凱薩琳和大象馬克。凱薩琳非常勇敢又喜歡冒險，但馬克的個性十分害羞，對許多事情都感到害怕。不過，朋友都喜歡黏在一塊兒，所以凱薩琳走到哪兒，馬克就會跟到哪兒。有時候，他們也會碰上非常棘手的情況...
A tree with a view 樹上美景
Mark and Kathleen were up in the mountains for a little weekend getaway. The sky was blue, white clouds filled the sky, and one could see crickets, frogs and snakes along the ground.
"Wow, look at the view from up here!" Kathleen said. She had climbed a tree and was looking down on the whole city. Mark stood timidly at the base of the tree trunk, worried about climbing up.
"It looks nice from down here, thanks," he croaked.
"You're kidding me!" Kathleen scurried back down the tree. "You can't see anything from down here!" she cried.
"I've never climbed a tree," Mark mumbled while shuffling his feet. "What if I fall down?"
"There's no chance of that!" Kathleen scoffed. "Come on, let's climb." Kathleen pulled Mark up and got him onto the first big branch.
"Hey, this isn't so bad," Mark said. He started to feel more comfortable. "And the view is better from up here. I can even see my apartment!"
Kathleen scrambled up to the top of the tree effortlessly. Feeling braver, Mark decided to climb higher himself.
As he stepped on a higher branch, there was a sharp snapping sound and Mark fell, rolling down the hill ...
馬克和凱薩琳暫時遠離塵囂到山上度週末，除了藍天、白雲外，四周還可見蟋蟀、蛙類及蛇類的蹤跡。
早就爬到樹上的凱薩琳俯瞰全市風景說：「哇，瞧瞧這上面望去的景色！」；馬克則膽怯地站在樹根上，擔心爬樹的問題。
「謝了，這下面的風景就很棒了，」他低聲地說。
「別開玩笑了！」凱薩琳一溜煙地從樹上下來，大喊著說：「下面根本什麼也看不到！」
Write your own ending to the story! 寫下你的故事結局:
Idea 1: Mark keeps rolling down the hill and approaches a cliff. Is he able to slow down? When he goes off the cliff, does he fall very far? Where does he land? Is anyone able to help him? Is anyone hurt?
想法一: 馬克一路滾下山坡來到一處懸崖邊。他有辦法減速嗎？如果他墜落懸崖，會摔得很遠嗎？他會摔落何處？有人能幫他嗎？有人受傷嗎？
Idea 2: As Mark rolls down the hill, he encounters a group of snakes. Do the snakes bite him, squeeze him or help him? Can Kathleen catch up to him? How does she untangle him from the snakes? Is anybody hurt?
想法二: 馬克滾下山坡時，遇上了一群蛇。蛇群會咬他？緊纏他？還是幫助他？凱薩琳能追上他嗎？她能救他脫離蛇群的糾纏嗎？有人受傷嗎？
Idea 3: Mark rolls down the hill and lands in a lake. Is Mark able to swim? Is there anything for him to grab onto? Does anything in the water threaten him? Can Kathleen swim or help him some other way? What happens?
想法三: 馬克滾下山坡，最後掉進湖裡。馬克會游泳嗎？有什麼東西讓他抓住嗎？水中有威脅他性命的東西嗎？凱薩琳會游泳嗎？還是她有其他方法可以救他呢？會發生什麼事？
馬克拖著步伐咕噥地說：「我從沒爬過樹，萬一摔下來怎麼辦？」
「絕不會發生那種事！」凱薩琳嘲笑地說：「快點，我們來爬啦！」凱薩琳把馬克拉了上來，讓他踩上第一根大樹枝。
「嘿，感覺還不賴耶，」開始覺得比較自在的馬克說：「這上面的景色更好耶，我甚至看得到我的公寓呢！」
凱薩琳兩三下就爬到樹頂，馬克也鼓起勇氣決定再爬高一點。
就在他踩上一根更高的樹枝時，忽然啪地一聲，馬克摔了下來，滾下山坡...
