A mystery Hong Kong feng shui master on Apr. 20 claimed the estate of Asia's richest woman Nina Wang.
The announcement came as relatives filed their own legal papers over the wealth of the late eccentric, whose property empire and miser's lifestyle made her a regular feature on both the business and the gossip pages.
Attorneys said a 2006 will written by Wang, who died this month from cancer aged 69, had left the entire legacy to feng shui master Chan Chun-chuen — a figure other feng shui masters in this Chinese city said they'd never heard of.

"Mr Chan is very honored by the trust and affection which Nina Wang has shown in passing her entire estate to him," said the legal notice published in several Hong Kong newspapers.
"In dealing with it, Mr Chan will at all times have regard to the values by which Nina Wang managed her business interests and personal affairs during her life."
In death as in life, Wang has generated controversy and filed the daily papers in Hong Kong.
Wang's vast wealth was made by transforming her husband's company Chinachem into a real estate empire.
Little is known about Chan and local newspapers interviewed well-known feng shui masters — traditionally consulted in China to ensure health, wealth and happiness — who said they had never heard of him.
The Apple Daily newspaper, citing unnamed sources, said Chan had gained Wang's trust as he had also believed that her late husband Teddy was still alive, and that they repeatedly prayed together at a temple for his return. Mr Wang was missing for nine years and declared legally dead in 1999.(AFP)

SAY WHAT? 說說看
late 已故的
A late husband is a dead husband. Death is an sensitive subject, so there are many indirect ways to say someone has died. If your uncle dies, you could say he passed away, is no longer with us or has shuffled off this mortal coil (this last phrase comes from Shakespeare's play Hamlet, written in 1603).
There are other ways to say someone has died: they are pushing up daisies, they bought the farm or they kicked the bucket. But these phrases would be offensive to someone who knows the deceased.
假如你的叔叔過世,你可以說他「pass away」、「no longer with us」或「shuffle off this mortal coil」(最後一個片語源自莎士比亞一六○三年的劇本《哈姆雷特》)。
其他表示某人已故的說法還有︰「push up daisies」 、「bought the farm」或「kicked the bucket」。
OUT LOUD
Tessa: Did you hear Nina Wang left her fortune to some obscure guy?
Christina: That's out of this world. I wonder if it's some sort of scam, or if they had been having a secret affair.
Tessa: In any case, her family is sure to dispute it in court. It could be years before the case is over.
Christina: Hopefully they can find a way to resolve it without resorting to that.
Tessa: I wouldn't hold my breath.
If you hold your breath for something, it means you are eager for it to happen. Someone would advise you against holding your breath if they think something will not happen or will take too long to occur.
It’s no secret that Japanese people have a deep affection for noodles. Like in the rest of East Asia, noodles are an important staple food, second only to rice. Japanese people have enjoyed noodles for over 1,000 years. The first noodles came from China and were introduced around 800 CE. As time passed, noodles in Japan not only became widespread but also developed some unique Japanese characteristics. The three most popular types of noodles in Japan are ramen, soba, and udon. Ramen, typically made from wheat flour, is usually thin and firm. The dough is kneaded and left to
Rice is an essential ingredient in Taiwanese cuisine. Many foods are made of rice, adding more variety to our cooking, such as rice cake, or “gui.” Wagui is made by steaming rice flour batter in a bowl. The term “gui” refers to a type of food made from rice, while “wa” refers to a bowl. The pronunciation of “gui” in Taiwanese Hokkien is similar to the word for “nobility” in Chinese, so it is common for people to prepare various types of gui, including wagui, as offerings to the gods or ancestors,. nobility (n.) While Taiwan may not be
On Tuesday last week, the flame for this summer’s Paris Olympics was lit at the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games in southern Greece in a meticulously choreographed ceremony. It will then be carried through Greece for more than 5,000km before being handed over to French organizers at the Athens venue used for the first modern Olympics in 1896. The pageantry at Olympia has been an essential part of every Olympics for nearly 90 years since the Games in Berlin. It’s meant to provide an ineluctable link between the modern event and the ancient Greek original on which it was initially modelled. Once
Continued from yesterday(延續自昨日) https://www.taipeitimes.com/News/lang As with many aspects of Japanese culture, there is etiquette to follow when you enjoy noodles. To fully experience noodles like a local on your next visit to Japan, consider these simple guidelines. First, be careful where you put your chopsticks. Don’t leave them sticking up in the broth or set them at the side of the bowl. When you have finished eating or if you’re taking a break, place them on the chopstick rest next to the bowl. Also, it is impolite to wave chopsticks around or bring them above mouth-level. Second, don’t take too
