Meet Kathleen the mouse and Mark the elephant. Kathleen is very brave and likes adventure, but Mark is very shy and scared of many things. But friends stay together, so Mark follows Kathleen wherever she goes. Sometimes they get into some very sticky situations.

Kathleen's kidnapping
One lazy afternoon, Mark and Kathleen were sitting in hammocks in Mark's yard.
"I enjoy just sitting here and enjoying nature," Mark noted. "The flowers and sunset are spectacular."
"Yes, look at the bees buzzing around," Kathleen said with a smile.
Mark's neighboor approached Mark and Kathleen's hammocks. "Hello, Mark," the tall tiger in a dark jacket said.
"Hey Terry, how are you?" Mark replied. "Enjoying the good weather?"
"Good weather? Oh, sure, it feels great out here," Terry said while staring at Kathleen.
"We haven't been properly introduced," said Kathleen. "I'm Kathleen."
"It's my pleasure," replied Terry with a sly grin. "I've seen you over here at Mark's before. Hey, Mark, what kind of bird is that on the swing behind you?" he asked, squinting past Mark.
Mark swung his head around to check. "It looks like a ... wait, I don't see a bird!"
By the time Mark could turn around, Terry the tiger had already kidnapped Kathleen! Mark could just see Terry turn the corner at the end of the street.
"Not so fast!" Mark chased Terry down the street. When he turned the corner, he saw Terry carrying Kathleen into a building marked "Science Lab ..." (Jason Cox, staff writer)
一個慵懶的午後，馬克和凱薩琳坐在馬克家後院的吊床上。

「嘿，泰瑞，你好嗎？」馬克回答說︰「出來享受好天氣？」
泰瑞盯著凱薩琳看一邊說︰「好天氣？噢，是啊，外頭天氣好極了。」
凱薩琳說︰「我們還沒有正式彼此介紹，我是凱薩琳。」
「這是我的榮幸。」泰瑞狡猾地微笑回答︰「我曾在馬克家看過你。嘿，馬克，你背後的鞦韆上頭是什麼鳥？」泰瑞斜眼看著馬克身後。
馬克轉頭望了一望︰「看起來像‥‥‥等等，我沒有看到鳥！」
馬克還來不及轉回頭，老虎泰瑞已經綁走了凱薩琳！馬克只看到泰瑞從街頭的另一角轉彎。
馬克沿路追著泰瑞說︰「別跑那麼快！」馬克在街角轉彎時，看到泰瑞抱著凱薩琳走進了一棟標示為「科學實驗室」的建築‥‥‥ （翻譯：賴美君）
