TOURISM 觀光業
Nearly 30,000 tourists visited in the 2004-05 Antarctic summer, mainly on cruises. The number is predicted to increase to over 80,000 by 2010. Overflights fly from Australia and South America. Some tourists land and ski to the South Pole or climb mountains. Adventure sports are becoming a popular form of tourism in Antarctica, although many simply visit to see the scenery and wildlife. All forms of tourism are an environmental concern in such a delicately balanced ecosystem. 二○○四至○五年的夏季，共有近三萬遊客造訪南極，大多搭乘渡輪。遊客預計在二○一○年增加到八萬人。從澳洲與南美洲搭飛機時可以飛越南極上空。有些遊客先飛到南極，再滑雪或爬山到南極點。雖然許多民眾只想一睹南極風光與野生動物，刺激性的運動卻逐漸成為受歡迎的觀光型態。由於當地的生態系統平衡相當微妙，所有形式的觀光業均受環保關切。
