British adventurer Dave Cornthwaite has became the first person to skateboard across Australia.
The 27-year-old covered the 4,831km from Perth to Sydney in five months. On the way he broke American skater Jack Smith's world distance record of 4,830km.
Cornthwaite is going to skate on to Brisbane to take his distance up to 6,000km.
Arriving in Sydney, he thanked his seven-member support team.
"They've given up their jobs and they've given up everything they've known to ... come along and follow a bloke on a yellow skateboard travel across Australia," Cornthwaite said. "They've kept me sane and they've kept me going and I'm absolutely determined to finish this."
Cornthwaite is a newcomer to skateboarding, having started just 2 years ago. "I wasn't very happy with my job and I thought 'why not make something of my life?'"

英國冒險家戴維．科思韋特成為第一位以滑板橫越澳洲的人。
這名二十七歲的青年在五個月內橫跨柏斯到雪梨，全程四千八百三十一公里。此行他打破美國滑板好手傑克．史密斯的世界紀錄四千八百三十公里。
科思韋特將繼續滑行到布里斯本，將距離拉長至六千公里。
抵達雪梨時，他對七人支援小組的表示感謝。
「他們放棄了工作，放棄所熟悉的一切…來追隨一個踩著黃色滑板的小子跨越澳洲。」科思韋特表示︰「他們一直讓我頭腦保持清醒，不斷持續向前，我絕對要完成這項任務。」
科思韋特是兩年前才開始接觸滑板的新手，「我對自己的工作不是很開心，所以我想『為何不有一番作為？』」
