In many countries, models and movie stars are the symbols of beauty. Many people copy what models wear and try to copy how they look.

But sometimes people try so hard to be as skinny as models that they get sick or develop eating disorders.

To fix this problem, Italy, often called the fashion capital of the world, has new rules for models.

The new rules are meant to make fashion designers use models with healthier figures.

So what are the new rules? First, no girls under 16 are allowed to be models. Also, girls that are considered too skinny will not go up on stage.

A doctor must also examine them and confirm the models do not have eating disorders.

Italy is not the first country to make such rules. Both Spain and Brazil have rules to try and keep models who are too young or too skinny off the catwalk.

在許多國家，模特兒和電影明星都是美麗的象徵，很多人會效法他們的穿著，試圖模仿他們的樣貌。

但是有些人過度努力要變得像模特兒一樣瘦，而導致生病或飲食失調。

為解決這個問題，人稱「世界時尚之都」的義大利對模特兒有了新規定。

新規定旨在促使時尚設計師使用體態較健康的模特兒。而新規定是什麼呢？首先，十六歲以下的模特兒不准當模特兒，而且太瘦的模特兒不許上伸展台。

醫生必須對模特兒進行體檢，確定他們沒有飲食失調的問題。

義大利不是第一個祭出此項規定的國家，西班牙和巴西都有規定，試著不讓太年輕或太瘦的模特兒上伸展台。
