What looks different about this cat?
Most cats are furry, but this cat is not. It is a hairless cat. Because most cats have lots of hair, you might think this cat looks a little strange, or even scary.
Can you think of what kinds of problems a cat with no hair might have? Hairless cats often have trouble staying warm, especially in cold weather. For most cats, their hair helps them stay warm, just like clothes help humans stay warm.
So even though this cat may not look cuddly, it likes to be close to people and other cats. Being close to warm bodies helps hairless cats stay warm. If you have warm friends, who needs fur?
