This picture should look very familiar.
It's a picture of a strawberry, a fruit that we have all eaten. But have you ever thought about what makes a strawberry special?
The white-green specks on the outside of the strawberry are its seeds. Think about the other fruits you know of -- grapes, apples, watermelons, oranges -- where are their seeds?
The seeds of all of those fruits are on the inside. In fact, those fruits grow around the seeds.
A strawberry is totally different. It grows straight from the plant, the way a flower or vegetable does.
Think about that next time you munch on this sweet snack!
