    A creative car

    Friday, Oct 14, 2005,Page 20

Although it may look very different, the white bubble-looking machine in this picture is a new kind of car.

This car, called "Pivo," was made in Japan. In order to come up with such a creative look for the car, the car company Nissan asked an artist to help them think of ideas.

When they were finished, the car looked like this. The most interesting thing about it is that the top part of the car can go around in a circle so that drivers can face any way they want to. This is very handy, because that way people never have to drive backwards.

In this picture, the top part of the car is turning. The part of the car facing back is the door, which is normally on the side.
    Do you know?
    THE FUTURE OF CARS
There are lots of ideas about how to make cars better in the future. Some people want cars to use something other than gas to make them go. Some people want to build cars that don't need a driver. Some people even believe that in the future, cars will use magnets to move around.

I carry a pencil in my pocket, that way I always have one handy.
    我放一支鉛筆在包包裡,這樣我手邊就都會有一支筆。
