What would you do if you saw a man on fire walking toward you?
The man on the left, an American actor, just calmly shook his hand. That's because actors are used to seeing things like men on fire. In a lot of movies, unbelievable things happen -- people jump off buildings, hang from airplanes, and drive cars over open bridges.
The people who do these incredible stunts are not actors, they are stuntmen. It is their job to do all the things in the movies that look dangerous. But stuntmen know how to do these things so that they are safe.
It isn't a job that everyone can do. You must study your job very carefully, practice for many years and have a very strong, healthy body.

Although stuntmen are still important, these days, computers do a lot of the work. Actors are filmed in a safe place and then a different background is added in by a computer. So actors might look like they are hanging from a building when really they aren't very far off the ground.
