Successful protest
Police officers clash with demonstrators outside Premier Su Tseng-chang's home in Taipei yesterday as members of an association to protect the Lo Sheng Sanatorium in Taipei County protested its planned demolition to make space for an MRT station. The sanatorium is Taiwan's only public hospital for leprosy sufferers and the association demands that Su repeal the order to demolish it. The premier repealed the demolition order at a press conference later yesterday.
