TSU caucus whip Tseng Tsahn-deng (曾燦燈) said the KMT's referendum proposal was not feasible, because UN Resolution 2758 clearly stated that "the ROC has been replaced by the PRC."
Meanwhile, the People First Party issued a statement yesterday outlining its opposition to the KMT's referendum bid.
"The move will hurt the Republic of China before the nation can benefit from it. It won't help to stabilize cross-strait relations and will have a negative impact on US-Taiwan relations," it said.
