The Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday expressed support and affirmation for the UN's sanctions on North Korea.
In a press release issued yesterday, the ministry said that although Taiwan is not a member of the UN, it is a member of the international society and has the responsibility to carry out its international duties.
Taiwan will cooperate with the UN's resolution and take measures on embargo and export control to North Korea, the release said.
Taiwan has been taking the stand that the regional issues between North Korea and South Korea as well as Taiwan and China should be resolved peacefully, the release said.
"Taiwan urges North Korea not to continue to conduct any nuclear test or missile test and solve the nuclear arms problems through a peaceful dialogue," the ministry said.
