DPP caucus members, however, had different takes on the matter.

Caucus whip Chen Chin-jun (陳景峻) said he approved of Lu's determination to reform the DPP and he believed that the DPP could achieve her goal.

But DPP Legislator Huang Wei-cher (黃偉哲) said he was surprised by Lu's remarks and thought Lu's good intentions might not be able to resolve the crisis the DPP is facing now.

"I don't understand why Vice President Lu set three months as a time limit. But I'm worried that people cannot wait that long," Huang said.

"We hope that vice president stays with us and we can resolve the problems together," he said.
