From Saturday, visitors will be banned from visiting the islet of Chipei for two weeks after the Armed Forces Penghu Hospital shut down its emergency ward and normal treatment services.
The island county has reported six SARS cases, and more than 20 clinics and hospitals there have temporarily closed. The county government said it could take over the running of the hospitals if they failed to reopen within three days.
