Taiwanese pop diva Chang Hui-mei (
A car bumped into the back of the singer's vehicle as she was going to her hotel in the city of Wuhan, Warner Music said.
She was treated at a hospital emergency room and returned to the hotel wearing a neck brace, the company said.
The singer canceled filming for a commercial in Hong Kong on yesterday and it was not certain how long she would stay in China for medical observation, Warner said.
It's unlikely that she will miss her next concert on Oct. 5 in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing, the company added.
Chang kicked off a world tour with a concert in Shanghai on Aug. 3, two years after China banned her performances for singing the national anthum at the inauguration ceremony of President Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) in May 2000.
Without offering any explanation, China later lifted the ban on A-mei concerts.
Her recent tour includes shows in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and the US.
Time magazine named A-mei one of Asia's heroes last year.
