On other matters, Blair said it would be "fine" with him if Taiwan supplied the Philippines with F5E fighter jets as President Chen Shui-bian's (陳水扁) administration is considering.

His comment seemed to refute reports that the US Pacific Command has opposed such a transfer, which has been the subject of negotiations between Taipei and Manila.
