Yu unveils final appointments to `combative Cabinet'

Incoming Minister without Portfolio Kuo Yao-chi (郭瑤琪) will also concurrently serve as Public Construction Commission chairwoman, while the new National Council of Physical Fitness and Sports chairman has been named as Lin Te-fu (林德福).

Hu Sheng-cheng (胡勝正) and Tsai Ching-yen (蔡清彥), who were ministers without portfolio within the previous Cabinet, will be retained by Yu in his new Cabinet, as will National Science Council chairman Wei Che-ho (魏哲和).

Ouyang Min-shen (歐陽敏盛) will be promoted to head the Atomic Energy Council from his former post as deputy.

Altogether Yu's new Cabinet contains 39 members, of which 23 posts have changed hands and 16 have been retained by members of the previous Cabinet. With an average age of 53, 31 are male and eight are female.Also See Stories:
