The investigation into the alleged abduction of KMT legislator Huang Hsien-chou (
Meanwhile, Chan Hui-hua (詹惠華), head of a call-girl ring and the prime suspect in Huang's alleged kidnapping, turned herself in yesterday afternoon. She had not been released by press time last night.
Her lawyer warned that the ongoing investigation would expose the secret lives of many of Taiwan's politicians.
Chan Fu-shun (詹富順), the handicapped brother of Chan Hui-hua, who was released on bail of NT$100,000 yesterday morning, told reporters that Huang had lied about what happened in the hotel room between Dec. 27 and Dec. 31.
"He [Huang] was lying, lying, lying," the younger Chan said. "He tied himself up with scotch tape in bed with my sister and her two girlfriends. They used drugs and smoked marijuana and engaged in sadomasochistic games."
Chan Fu-shun, who suffers from a disease of the brain, said that this was why Huang asked his sister to tie him up with ropes, adding that the four did not take off all their clothes, but rather kissed each other and rolled over and over in bed during the course of their games. He said he went to the hotel room at the request of his sister to act as a private butler, but refused to supply further details.
On Wednesday, Huang told a news conference that he was abducted by gangsters for four days, during which time he was drug-ged, tied up, held at gunpoint and robbed of NT$800,000 in cash.
The outgoing lawmaker linked the incident to his attempt to mediate a financial dispute on behalf of a constituent, though investigators have expressed reservations over his testimony.
He has since shunned public appearances, with aides saying that he needed more time to recover from the trauma of the abduction.
His lawyer yesterday afternoon dismissed Chan Fu-shun's allegations as baseless fabrications aimed at blurring the issue.
"Huang finds it more prudent to remain silent until investigators wrap up their investigation," said Huang's lawyer, Liu Hsien-chang (
Chan Hui-hua, 29, who -- over the time period in question -- had been checked into the hotel room at the Grand Haytt Taipei where Huang was reportedly held hostage, heads a call-girl ring under the name of Lin Ann (林安). She showed up at the criminal department of the Taipei City Police Headquarters at 3:40pm, with her face covered.
The elder Chan insisted through her lawyer that she loaned Huang about NT$1 million in the run-up to the legislative elections and that they had maintained a romantic relationship for two years.
She allegedly provides sex services for many politicians, diplomats and industrialists.
The incident raised an uproar in political circles, with the media alleging that Huang is just one lawmaker among many who has abnormal sexual preferences.
They said some DPP members are known for their promiscuity.
But DPP members were quick to go on the defense. Six New Tide faction members held a press conference yesterday morning and requested that the United Daily News (聯合報) offer an apology if it fails to identify alleged fornicators in the faction within three days.
