"We're of course happy to have more business," the Kuokuang official said. "But we also are suffering from great pressure, with heavy loads due to the higher passenger volumes at the end of holidays."
Ninety percent of the company's bus tickets to Taipei today are sold out, he said.
The official said it took him three hours to drive from Hsinchu to Taipei at the start of holiday weekend, compared to the 90 minutes the trip normally takes.
With everyone out on the roads, "Traveling times on the highway have doubled," he said.
