Li Ching-chiang (
About 9pm last night TVBS reported that Li had climbed onto the roof of the building that stands across from the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and leapt off, eventually crashing through the glass roof of the inner atrium.
While Li left no suicide note, TVBS reported that colleagues said he had been suffering from depression and had previously attempted to resign.
But his request to resign was denied and Li was instead instructed to take a one month leave of absence. Li was still on leave yesterday when he jumped.
