Legacy Taipei, located in a former warehouse at Huashan 1914 Creative Park (華山1914), hosts top Taiwanese pop performers and international acts. The spotlight is on Japanese visual kei band Kiryu (己龍) tomorrow.

It is the release party of metal band Anthelion’s (幻日) latest album tonight at The Wall (這牆), Taipei’s most prominent venue for indie rock artists. Also on the bill is with Japanese Taiko unit Garyu. Tomorrow’s roster include noise experimental rock group The Sign of Human (記號士) and post-rock band Bugs of Phonon (聲子蟲). Japan’s Astro Attack hits the stage on Sunday, accompanied by Taiwan’s indie rockers My Skin Against Your Skin (激膚樂團), punk group Random (隨性樂團) and psychedelic rock band The Gigantic Roar (巨大的轟鳴). Funk outfit Quack Quad (庸醫樂團) and alternative metal act XIII Goat (拾參羊) each plays a set on Wednesday, followed by disco/post-punk outfit New Sunglasses (新墨鏡), Frusciante (佛香甜) and instrumental rock group Shimmer Riot on Thursday.

Taiwan’s garage rock favorites 88 Balaz (88顆芭樂籽) and BHD join hands with Japanese punk/death metal group The Royal Chains and shoegaze act Astro Attack tonight at indie rock club Revolver. The venue hosts a reggae party tomorrow featuring Cumbia del Sol as well as DJs Fao Selecta and @llenblow. On Sunday, it is live music from funk rock/rap group Underway, TOM Project (湯姆計畫) and Anemoscope (風向儀). Wednesday’s lineup includes Taipei’s grind/powerviolence/crust band Stench of Lust and metal/electronicore outfit Bezaliel, while Taiwanese thrash metal band Revolting Society (背骨樂團), metal act Sun Wolf Lake (日狼湖) and death metal/crust punk group Bitch Finder play on Thursday.

Retro rockers No Money No Honey and Micro (莫可) are scheduled tonight at Roxy Rocker, a basement hangout for indie rockers and fans in Taipei. Quack Quad (庸醫樂團) shares the stage with indie rockers Ark (阿克樂團) tomorrow.

Tonight, nakashi (那卡西) punk rock group LTK Commune (濁水溪公社) returns with hilarious and wacky alt-rock legends The Clippers Band (夾子電動大樂隊) at Pipe Live Music, a main venue for indie music and parties. Taike DJ Jerry (羅百吉) is going to have a birthday celebration tomorrow.

Blues/folk rocker Jing Wong (黃靖) performs at Kafka on the Shore (海邊的卡夫卡), a coffee house-cum-music and arts venue in the National Taiwan University area. Sunday’s show is by math rock band Elephant Gym (大象體操).

Composed of an accordionist and a violin player, Nineteen Tael (十九兩) plays tonight at Riverside Live House (河岸留言西門紅樓展演館), with indie rockers IGU Band (那我懂你意思了) also on the bill. Three guitar maestros Mike Mclaughlin from the US, Roberto Zayas from Paraguay and Taiwan’s Liao Ke-shao (廖克紹) jam together on Thursday.

Tonight’s performer is gypsy jazz group Dark Eyes (夜幕之眼) at Riverside Cafe (河岸留言), while jazz singer Jasmine Chien (簡詩敏) and pop crooner Allen (宇倫) are scheduled tomorrow. Electronic duo Orientone (大聲東) mixes Oriental music traditions with electronic sounds on Sunday, with post-rock act Triple Deer also playing. It is XIII Goat (拾參羊) and gothic metal band Renascimento (文藝復興樂團) on Tuesday, followed by Aboriginal group The Voice of Life (原味醞釀) and indie rock band La Petit Nurse (小護士) on Wednesday. Thursday’s act is trip-hop artist Mate Lin (林瑪黛).

Blues musician Nacomi Tanaka and her friends play tonight at Sappho de Base, a late-night lounge bar that hosts mostly jazz shows. Led by singer Sherwyne Pereir from Trinidad, R&B/jazz group Dread Rider takes the stage tomorrow. It is bass player Martijn Vanbuel, drummer Lin Wei-chung (林偉中) and pianist Hsu Yu-ying (許郁瑛) on Thursday.

Aboriginal folk icon Panai appears tonight at Tiehua Music Village (鐵花村), an arts village composed of a music venue, design and crafts shops and a weekend arts fair in Taitung City. Tomorrow’s spotlight is on indie singer-songwriter Deserts Chang (張懸).
